Do you want to see what can do $180 worth of damage to a car engine? For the 3rd time? A huge rat. Mike caught this one with some type of mega trap, and of course, we are expecting to catch some more. I hate killing things but this type of rat is very destructive. They love to chew through wires and can make its way through thick, heavy plastic. Mike can't even park his car in the garage anymore. And, this kind of rat tore through our house this winter, eating through heavy plastic bins, and even getting a banana from the fruitbowl on the cabinet and taking it on the couch to eat. I guess it is just one of the things you deal with living in the country.

I say a good rat is a dead rat - especially if they are eating you out of house & home and being destructive!
We've had no rats, but a few mice and even they can do some damage. It's hard to kill the little suckers, but sometimes necessary.
Nobody's squeamish here!
Kind of a southern Nutcracker Suite going on in your garage? Rat vs. car! Kind of makes you wonder what is going on in your home when you are not around!
Maybe you need some rat terriers or Jack Russells, they really DO keep rat populations in check, and cars safe.
I would hate to find that under the hood of my car. Why do they desire the engine?
oh my, i'm glad he killed it..kill the rest..i hate killing things also but i picture these things eating US at night....good riddens.
that is a big one..we live in the county and so fari never see any rats, thats terrible that they did that to your car..do you have cats? i have three and i never see mice or rats.i sure hope you find a way to get rid of them...
I would of freaked seeing that in a trap!! We moved to the country 7years ago and the first night in my new bedroom..I woke up and threw my legs over the side and see right in the middle of the throw rug..laid out Dead as a doornail..a huge Pack Rat!! I froze, the only thing that could of put it there was one of my cats. They were new to the country too and one of them decided they were leaving me a present!! The size of the thing almost sent me packing my things and moving back to town. Luckily..I haven't seen anymore! I have found some very interesting and unusual things in drawers in the garage though. I know they must reside somewhere close, but with the 4 outside dogs and 2 inside cats, I might have some backup!
Are you sure that is a rat? It looks like a kangaroo to me! A banana eating kangaroo! That thing is bigger then Paris Hilton's dog!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
I have such a rodent phobia.
I'm glad it's dead.
Yuck.
Ewwwwww............I hate rats and snakes. The country is full of both, but I pick the country of the city anytime.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment.
