This is the time of year when I seriously stop watering most of my yard. My garden didn't produce anything this year and we've had no rain, so we only have brown grass and an almost dry tank. Again.
I keep a small green oasis though, for our comfort. and Amos'. Here is the prettiest spot we have now. It is right on my deck.
I'm going to plant even more petunias next year. They have stayed so pretty. I also planted this small white annual, whose name I've forgotten, and it has kept in full bloom with little water. It gives us a nice, peaceful, and fairly cool spot to sit and enjoy.
Amos enjoys this spot. It is cool, and usually moist-a nice place to......
lie his head down.
And, it is a nice place to keep an eye on all his territory.

Your flowers are very lush and that bit of greenery and blossoms really do make make your porch look like an oasis in the desert.
Amos is so picturesque there on the deck , and his demeanor suggests the plants and deck are there especially for him, and of course , he is right! ( in his own mind )
Do you have to be careful with water, are you rationing water? Do you use dish water, etc., to water your plants? Living in Washington we rarely worry about scarcity of water, but I do remember living down south and being careful of water use was an every day concern.
I enjoyed visiting your blog. I live in Texas too and I know what you mean about the heat and not watering.

Hi - been awhile since I visited. Your petunias are beautiful. That's a cute little Amos you have there sticking his head under the plants!
Sorry you've got no water. Our yard is getting crispy but we're still watering the garden. It's starting to look a little sad, tho. Stay cool and give your Amos a pat on the head for me!
