Granny's Green Shake
My Mother likes to make a shake out of vegetables and fruit. She goes outside and picks fresh ingredients from her little garden area and adds edible native plants. Then she peels and cores an apple or peels an orange and blends it all together. This is a picture of my first shake. I used lettuce and kale from my porch garden and added an apple. I blended that with enough water to make a pint. I drank half in the morning and half in the evening. It is a good way to drink enough water for the day and get a few servings of vegetables and fruit at the same time. You can make enough for a pitcher and keep it in the fridge. I am trying to make it may new habbit. Does anyone else do this? Any suggestions?

Falling trees
We are losing several large oak trees around our house. Mike cut down the tree closest to the house and the very next day this happened:
a completely healthy-looking tree fell. While Mike cut down the first tree, we parked the car right here, next to the basketball goal. We are very thankful that the tree didn't fall at that time.
The tree had looked healthy to us but when we looked at the roots after it fell, we could tell that it had been rotting underground for a long time. Now, we are very aware of where we park, or stand.....
I'm afraid that we have at least 2 more trees to remove, and those are just the ones we can see are dead.
