Granny's Green Shake

My Mother likes to make a shake out of vegetables and fruit. She goes outside and picks fresh ingredients from her little garden area and adds edible native plants. Then she peels and cores an apple or peels an orange and blends it all together. This is a picture of my first shake. I used lettuce and kale from my porch garden and added an apple. I blended that with enough water to make a pint. I drank half in the morning and half in the evening. It is a good way to drink enough water for the day and get a few servings of vegetables and fruit at the same time. You can make enough for a pitcher and keep it in the fridge. I am trying to make it may new habbit. Does anyone else do this? Any suggestions?

You know that I love you with all my heart and I am for sure all about gardens, vegetables, water, and, for that matter, fruit. I am not sure, however that I could drink that.

It actually wasn't too bad. A piece of fruit to blend in is a must!

My favorite combo's so far are spinach with Banana and strawberries (only cleaned leaving the leaves on the strawberries) and parsley with apple (peel on) and orange (or tangerine or cutie).

My favorite lately is spinach, a carrot, an apple, 1/4 of unpeeled lemon and a big chunk of fresh ginger. Almost every juice combination for me must have the lemon and ginger .... adds a little kick!! :)
