Four Days for Me, the Mom

My Mother's Day started on Thursday, with the purchase of these! First, a handmade crock for tea or lemonade. The display explains that 4 generations have made this pottery right here in Texas.
Next, a pasta maker that rolls and cuts the homemade pasta dough. The first recipe I tried was an eggless dough that was so simple and so good: 3 cups flour, 1 cup water and 2 tablespoons olive oil.

I rolled the dough into sheets and let it dry a while on a floured surface.

Then I cut the pasta into fettuccine!
Over the next several days, we shopped and ate out, and celebrated at church. It was a very special time for me.I hope you all had a Mother's Day as great as mine.

Oh yum, homemade noodles! I have to tell you that since I started reading blogs I have been so interested in the different traditions I see families carry on, and I have noticed different parts of our big , wonderful country have their own special and distinctive ways of doing this!

Your family has a very Texas way of being together that I love to read about, some of the blogs I read are from the deep south, and they are just as distinctively unique...but then again, we all do so many things in similar ways that show we are Americans , love the crock! Would look wonderful in my kitchen, even with the Texas star!

Send me some noodles....
